I love photography. I believe that a picture is worth a thousand words and more. I am not a professional photographer, in fact, I have taken only one photography class that made me realize I need to spend a little more time understanding my own camera (like read the manual)…
I enjoy modifying the look of my photography. Creating vintage or retro looks, modifying colors and blur effects. Me, my daughters and 40 million other users have a lot of fun with Instagram. Instagram started out as an IPhone app that allows users to share photos via the Instagram platform as well as through their social media (Facebook and Twitter). Users can use cool, fun and funky filters to add a level of ambiance to their snapshots.
Many Marketers are now incorporating Instagram into business, and more and more people are wanting to know “How can I use Instagram on a Computer?” I wanted the same Instagram filters, but as Lisa Mason points out in her Social Media Sun article, Instagram for Computer, there are quite a few Bells & Whistles available to users. Most of the programs allow a user to promote & view photos and some allow you to comment, like and send messages to Instagram contacts. The only thing you cannot do is upload photos from your PC. Darn!
Instead there are some FREE Photo Editors available on line that have similar photo filters. Phixr.com seems to have much of the same and more photo filters. Lisa Mason also mentions a few other options in her article which are listed below:
- Pixlr-o-matic
- Picplz
- Lo-Fi
- PicYou
- PhotoShop
- InstantRetro
- Rollip
- And more!
What is your favorite photo editing software or website? What filter is your favorite?
